Reverend John Hamilton Cornish papers, 1855-1888.

The Reverend John Hamilton Cornish Papers consist mostly of letters written by and addressed to Cornish, his sons Jas. H. (Joe) and A. Ernest, his daughters, and other family members. The correspondence concerns church affairs; his sons' educations at Sewanee Theological Seminary and other institutions; travel; and personal relationships among relatives, friends, and colleagues. The correspondence originated in South and North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Minnesota. The papers also include a small group of printed pamphlets, cards, circulars, bills, and receipts.
